Cal Raleigh is out, and catcher depth is hard to find
Few positions are as thin as catcher. What managers should do when a top option lands on the injury report.

Cal Raleigh is listed as out on the current injury report, and his managers know how hard he is to replace. Catcher is the shallowest position in fantasy, and few options can match what a top bat at the spot provides.
Do not overpay in a panic. Look on the waiver wire for a catcher with regular playing time, even if the power is modest. Drake Baldwin is the type of name to look at if he happens to be available in your league.
Remember that catchers get regular rest days, so a replacement will not play every game. That is one more reason to avoid giving up real value for what may be only a short-term fix.
