Membership Terms

These terms apply when you buy a membership, and they form part of our terms of use. They explain what you get, how billing works, and how to cancel.

What a membership includes

A membership unlocks the full text of member articles for the sports your plan covers. The membership page lists the current plans: some cover one sport, and all-access plans cover all four. We add and retire articles and features over time, and you need a verified account to subscribe.

Prices and billing

  • Price: the price, currency and billing period are shown before you subscribe. Depending on where you live, your payment provider or bank may add taxes or currency conversion fees.
  • Payment: subscriptions are processed by PayPal. You will need a PayPal account or another payment method that PayPal accepts, and PayPal's terms also apply. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Automatic renewal: your membership renews and you are charged automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • Price changes: a new price applies to new subscriptions. We will tell you in advance if a price change would affect your existing subscription, so that you can cancel first.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in your PayPal account, and your account dashboard here has a link that takes you there. Once you cancel, you will not be charged again, and you keep your access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

You cannot delete your account here while a subscription is still running, so please cancel in PayPal first.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we will email you so that you can update your payment details with PayPal. If payment is not made, your membership ends.

Refunds

Membership fees are generally non-refundable, and we do not give refunds or credits for part of a billing period or for time you did not use the site. If you were charged in error, or you subscribed by mistake and have not used the membership, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will review your request. If a payment is refunded or reversed, access under that membership ends right away. Nothing in these terms limits any refund rights you have under local consumer law.

Fair use

A membership is for you personally. Please do not share your sign-in details or republish member articles. We may suspend or end a membership that is being misused, or the account behind it, in line with our terms of use.

If we change or end the service

If we stop offering memberships, or a plan you are on, we will let you know in advance and stop billing you. We may change these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your subscription, we will tell you before it takes effect.
