Closer chaos: how to chase saves without losing your mind
Saves are one of the most volatile categories in fantasy. A sensible way to compete without overpaying.
By Sam Okafor · · 1 min read
Saves can make smart managers do strange things. Reliever roles change quickly, and the urge to chase every new closer can wear out your waiver budget and your patience within a month.
There are two sensible approaches. One is to pay for a trusted closer such as Edwin Diaz, Mason Miller or Jhoan Duran, whose talent makes their jobs relatively secure. The other is to spend almost nothing and pick up saves from whoever earns the role during the season.
